Lincoln, NE – After a year away, Cornhusker State Games Road Cycling returns to Lincoln, July 27 at Pioneers Park.

The day will feature an Individual Time Trial in the morning followed by a Circuit Race in the afternoon. Both races will be contested on a 4-mile loop taking riders through the entire park.

“This gets back to the old-school Cornhusker State Games race course,” race director John Lefler, Jr., said. “Pioneers Park is a favorite local spot for riders and racers alike to train. It will be fantastic to have the entire park for the day.”

The races are a dress rehearsal for the State Games of America, which will be held in Lincoln in July 2015.

“Lincoln is a great cycling town and we have a lot of talented athletes. I am excited that myself and the Flatwater Cycling Team can host these races,” Lefler said. “The State Games of America next year will be a great national showcase.”

The event is sanctioned by USA Cycling, which is the national governing body for the sport of cycling in the U.S.
