Lincoln, NE -- For the second consecutive year, the UNL Cycling Team will open the road racing calendar in Nebraska with the Tour de Husker, March 24-25. The weekend of racing will feature a road race and collegiate team time trial on Saturday and a criterium on Sunday. The road race and criterium will be open to USAC licensed riders, while the team time trial is a collegiate event only.
With a two day prize list of $2000, the Tour de Husker hopes to attract a large field to fill out the two days of racing.

Lincoln – Registration is open for the 28th annual Cornhusker State Games, set for July 20-29, 2012 in Lincoln, Omaha and surrounding communities. Kim Moore, President/CEO of St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, and Pat Clare, MD at Nebraska Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine, have been named honorary Co-Chairs of the amateur sports festival for Nebraskans of all ages and abilities.
Competitive Climbing and Crossfit will make their debut as official State Games sports. All registered athletes will receive a free shirt, yearbook, free meal and admission to SportFest and the Olympic-style Opening Ceremonies. Athletes will compete for more than 5,000 custom-cast gold, silver and bronze medals, and finishers in select events will receive commemorative medallions.

Registration for the 2012 Psycowpath Mountain Bike Series is now open. Opening day is fast approaching on March 31 with Jewell Jam at Jewell Park in Bellevue, Nebraska.

There are a few new additions to the seven race series. One being the two new sponsors Hightower Reff Law and Roy Kotz Realty.
The second is online registration will be through USA Cycling. USA Cycling has many advantages, one being no more waivers to sign on race day. So it’s pickup your number and race. If you register day of the race there will be a $10 late fee. Registration information…

Colorado Springs, Colo. -Following an unprecedented bevy of strong bids, USA Cycling has selected Boulder, Colo., Austin, Texas and Asheville, N.C. to host its 2014, 2015 and 2016 Cyclo-cross National Championships respectively.
“We had three outstanding bids making the only logical choice to award all three communities,” said USA Cycling Managing Director of National Events Micah Rice. “The decision to award one-year contracts for the championships will also help foster cyclo-cross racing in three distinctively different parts of the country.”
