Psycowpath_logoMountain bikers from across Nebraska and surrounding states will roll into Platte River State Park this weekend to compete in the third of nine events as part of the 2013 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Mountain Bike Racing Series.
The Platte River Battle Royal, hosted by Cycleworks / Moose’s Tooth of Lincoln, will be a daylong event, consisting of cross country style racing on dirt trails on the east side of the park. It is also the 2013 Nebraska State Championships where riders will vie for the top podiums in all age categories and earn chances to advance to the National Championships in Bear Creek Resort, PA later this summer.
The weekend begins at 10:00am with Marathon (endurance) and Beginner classes going first. At noon the Sport level and Expert level riders will toe the line. Races can be as long as one lap, or just under 5 miles, on up to multiple laps, depending on the level. Marathon racers will see how many laps they can complete in a four hour time period. Awards will go to the fastest finishers by
age group and ability categories. State qualifiers will win medals from USACycling.
The day concludes with an awards ceremony, a grill out and kids races.
