Road Racing Returns to Pioneers Park

Lincoln, NE — The Cornhusker State Games Road Cycling event returns to Pioneers Park, Sunday, July 30. Races will be offered for Men, Women and Juniors in USA Cycling categories 3, 4 and 5.
The race circuit is a 4.5 mile closed loop, which begins at the entrance to the Pinewood Bowl. The course heads east on the road, down around the Buffalo statue roundabout and then proceeds back to the west before taking a left and heading down the hill on the east side of the Pinewood Bowl. The course continues along the south side of the Pinewood Bowl along the pond. The course turns right at the fork in the road and proceeds north to the next fork and then proceeds LEFT on the road out to the Nature Center, up around the roundabout and then proceeds east back to the Pinewood Bowl. There is a long-ish climb to the finish line. The course is a closed circuit on race day. Please keep this in mind when training on the course beforehand. The race circuit runs AGAINST the normal traffic flow.
Annual and one-day race licenses are available for purchase through registration. An annual license purchase will be valid for USAC mountain bike and cyclocross events, too. Registration is $25 per person. The entry fee jumps to $35, July 20, 2017.
